Monkston Celebrates 20 Year Milestone

Monkston Primary is 20 years old and is an integral and valued part of the local community. The primary, which opened in 2001, has provided the very best in learning opportunities and pastoral care, whilst always striving to work in partnership with parents and carers. What better way for the pupils to celebrate the milestone than a morning creating artwork, which the school hopes will still be being displayed in the next 20 years. An aerial photograph was taken too of the whole school standing on a giant number 20. The afternoon celebrations continued with an outdoor picnic and there was entertainment from a steel band and a magician.

The primary has had four fantastic headteachers and over 1600 pupils, who have benefited from the outstanding teaching at the school.

Monkston School was built on a thistle field and a single thistle in the school’s logo represents this.
