In recognition of the outstanding careers advice and support offered to students in their next step decisions, a KET school has been presented with the national Quality in Careers Standard.

The accolade, which was awarded to Oakgrove following a rigorous external assessment of the school’s careers education and guidance programme, acknowledges that they have demonstrated strong leadership and have showed that they administer effective training for staff who plan and deliver a careers package that includes all students.

Delighted to be the first school in Milton Keynes to have achieved the award, Headteacher Ian Tett, said:

“At Oakgrove, we recognise the important role the school plays in helping students develop the knowledge, skills and experience they need to achieve personal success. Access to a wide range of further education, apprenticeship and work-based providers in our career programme ensures that students make informed decisions about their lives once they leave school and beyond.

“Receiving the Quality in Careers Standard is a well-deserved endorsement of the dedication and commitment of the school’s careers team.”
