Government Praise for KET Primary Schools
Letters congratulating Middleton and Monkston Primary Schools on their achievement and progress from the Minister of State for Schools Standards, the Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP, have delighted pupils and staff.
The Minister wrote personally to Middleton to acknowledge the very high standard of achievement demonstrated in the writing and mathematics Key Stage 2 assessments last year. He noted that the school’s results show that 100 per cent of its pupils reached or exceeded the expected standard in writing and mathematics at the end of Key Stage 2. This means that for achievement in writing and mathematics, Middleton Primary School is in the top 1 per cent of primary schools in the country.
In correspondence sent to Monkston School, the Minister applauded the very high level of progress that pupils demonstrated in the reading, writing and mathematics Key Stage assessments. The results show that the progress Monkston pupils made, between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, place the school amongst the top 3 per cent of primary schools in England.
The Minister signed off his letters thanking the staff in both schools for their commitment and success.
