To help ease the pressure on doctors’ surgeries and on Milton Keynes University Hospital,
Oakgrove School is opening up its Community Hall to enable the NHS to administer the
immunisation programme for babies.

The weekly sessions, which will start on Wednesday 22 April, will help to ensure that NHS
staff can vaccinate infants against diseases, such as measles, rubella, tetanus and meningitis,
in a suitably equipped setting.

Delighted to be able to assist the NHS, Oakgrove School Headteacher Ian Tett said:

“I am so pleased that we can offer a safe and secure environment, so that nursing staff can
carry out their invaluable work of delivering immunisations to children in the local
community. The team will run the sessions every Wednesday from Oakgrove School for the
foreseeable future.”

NHS Immunisation and Clinical Delivery Manager, Rebecca Twist, added:

“All NHS staff are adapting to changes in their working practices and surroundings and it is
so important that we can work in a space where social distancing can be observed.

“The Immunisation and Vaccination team would like to thank Oakgrove School for providing
suitable accommodation at this challenging time for medical centres.”
