KET Primary Scales the Heights of the DfE Performance Tables

Monkston - mini-marathon

18 December 2019

Pupils at Monkston School are celebrating achieving the best average SATs scores in reading and mathematics in Milton Keynes and for being ranked 18th out of 20,553 schools nationally for the percentage of pupils achieving a combined greater depth score.

Published in the Department for Education’s overall performance tables, Monkston’s results show how well on average their pupils performed in their key stage 2 reading and maths tests. The school’s ‘scaled score’ was the higher standard of 112 in mathematics and 110 reading.

The new government standard scores were set for the first time in 2016, to provide information about pupils across England achieving in the top 5% and who are ‘working at a greater depth within the expected standard’.

Overjoyed with Monkston’s impressive achievements, Headteacher Hannah Williams said:

“With 88% of our pupils meeting the expected standard, 48% achieving at a higher standard and with our reading, writing and mathematics SATs results all ‘well above average’, the school are  absolutely delighted with these fantastic results.

“Our children learn in an inspiring and motivating setting by enthusiastic, professional and conscientious staff, who work tirelessly to ensure that the children achieve to the best of their abilities.”
